Self Managed Teams

A self managed team is a self-organized semi-autonomous small group whose members determine, plan, and manage their day-to-day activities and duties (in addition to providing other supportive functions such as production scheduling, quality assurance, and performance appraisal) under reduced or no supervision. Also called self directed team, self-managed natural work team, or auto managed team.

Self Managed Teams prove innovative

A number of studies have shown that "self managed teams" in the work place deliver;

  3. More creativity
  4. More original ideas
  5. More Innovation
  6. Higher productivity

This certainly sounds like what is needed in the Local Government work space.
